IFMSA-Poland Foundation Supports the Expansion of the Free HPV Vaccination Program
Publication date:
The IFMSA-Poland Foundation has officially endorsed the demand of the Health Commission of the Youth Council operating within the Parliamentary Team for Youth Affairs to expand the free vaccination program against the human papillomavirus (HPV) to include adolescents aged 15–18.
In its official statement issued on November 10, 2025, the Board and Council of the IFMSA-Poland Foundation emphasized that ensuring equal access to modern cancer prevention measures is an essential element of an effective public health policy. Current age restrictions exclude a significant group of young people whose health awareness and need for protection against the consequences of HPV infections are particularly important.
The Foundation also highlights that widespread “catch-up” vaccination programs introduced in other countries have led to a dramatic reduction in the incidence of cervical cancer and other HPV-related cancers.
As an organization representing future medical professionals, we declare full substantive support for initiatives aimed at providing free protection to all adolescents in Poland.
